IAS Security Hero

Library Orientation

Welcome

The Institute for Advanced Study exists to promote the disinterested pursuit of knowledge unburdened from distraction. We take this pledge seriously and work to minimize the distractions that take you away from your research.

Who are we?

Network Administration is a team of 4 dedicated to all your networking needs, whether it be on campus, in housing, or connecting remotely. We have tried to maximize our offerings and minimize the difficulties of getting online.

Library Resources

Library resources are an import part of your day, so gaining access to them is paramount. For your personal devices, here are two guides on how to get onto our wireless network and connect to our Princeton Library Gateway to access electronic resources. Your IAS provided campus computer will already be set up to access these resources.

Information Security

Information Security is something that we all need to be aware of and work to protect ourselves. Malicious criminals are targeting you, let's work together to thwart their attempts. Take a look at our security website that has a lot of great information and tools that can be used to help keep yourself secure. Come to our CyberSecurity awareness talks and learn how to avoid Internet scams and keep your data safe.

Remote Access

Learn how to get to your research on the go by connecting to our OpenVPN remote access solution.

Set up Multi-Factor Authentication

Many of our systems require Multi-Factor Authentication to further protect access to IAS resources. You'll need to set up Duo Security on your smartphone or tablet. To learn more, or what to do if you don't have one of these devices, visit this link.

Secure your data by using safe methods to transfer files

If you wouldn't send it in a postcard, why would you send it in an email? Email and other means may not be the most secure methods to send sensitive information. Take a look at our Filelocker application to send this information securely.
